Penetrating Cold

Winter weather in Kyoto? It's freezing, I mean, to the bone.

At night of a clear day without winds, it gets even colder because of the cold radiation. Since Kyoto is a basin surrounded by mountains from three directions, cold air stays at the bottom.

"It's really cold!", that's what you hear from everybody at this time of the year.

Having said that, I like this weather because it's so like Kyoto. The cold air brings delicious Kyoto delicacies. Indeed, I love being here in Kyoto.
