Pockets on KIMONO

I usually carry a lot of belongings with me in a large bag. However, it's not a convenient way if you are wearing KIMONO. I say this because KIMONO bag products are usually small in size. Besides, carrying a huge bag while you are in a graceful KIMONO is somehow embarrassing.

GEIKO* would wrap their GASSAI (wallet) with KAISHI (thick and beautiful paper for tea ceremonies) and put it in-between the layer of their OBI (belt). Their handkerchiefs would be in their TAMOTO (sleeve) as well. You see, KIMONO has no pocket on itself, yet there still be a plenty of rooms where you can put your items.

When getting on a train, you can put your ticket or IC card in-between the layer on your chest (see the picture below), so that you don't have to open/close your bag every time you go through the gate. After I learned this, my trouble of carrying a huge bag has went away.

Having said that, please remember that this is only for casual occasions. For formal scenes, suitable bags and other items have to be chosen. I addition, please note that too many items can make your sleeve look fat and unsophisticated. Also, please do not forget to remove the items on your chest when you take pictures...
